ABOUT THE ARTIST

MADALENA NEGRONE

Madalena Negrone was born and raised in Genoa, Italy, where she studied under the tutelage of Gabriele Kutzke, a German-born painter and sculptor. Negrone has painted from an early age. She derives her artistic inspiration from her native Genoa, the ancient harbor city located on the Mediterranean—its colorful architecture and the diverse cultures that coalesce on the city streets. Her work is informed by a polyhedric life experience of cultural exchange, travel, and the arts. Negrone has a professional background in international relations, is fluent in 6 languages, trained in music, and has lived on three continents and traveled extensively. The artist’s fascination with quantum physics planted the seeds for her newest series, "Entangled," in which the contours of her compositions at times seem to depict the movements of particles through space and time. The artist combines science, energy, movement, rhythm, and metaphysics to visually communicate the complications of existence.
